Texao was founded as mill weaving for third parties in 1965 by my father Roberto Gori.
He had a real enthusiasm for fibres and weaving which soon led him to his true passion of designing and creating his very own fabrics.
Initially he was producing upholstery fabrics with mainly tussiah silk & wool with the help of the architect Sergio Cammilli, an exceptionally talented designer who collaborated with Poltronova.
It was at this time that the Texao name was established – Tessuti x Arredamento Oggi (Fabrics for Furniture today).
In the years that followed the Texao company evolved and grew into new product fields (including jacquard lines) but always maintaining the creative spirit of its origins.
Continual investments in the latest technologically advanced machinery, research and personnel training keep Texao forever current with todays trends and always looking to the future.
