ETI CODE – CORPORATE POLICIES
The ETI (Ethical Trading Initiative) Code is based on the conventions of the International Labour Organization (ILO). It is an internationally recognized code of business practices for the protection of human rights in the workplace.
0. RESPECT FOR FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS AND DUE DILIGENCE
0.1 Based on the 2011 UN principles and ILO conventions.
0.2 Commitment to respecting the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
0.4 The company recognizes its suppliers as stakeholders and requires compliance with this code.
0.6 In the event of supplier non-compliance, 3 months are granted for resolution before proceeding with external audits or terminating the relationship.
1. WORK IS FREELY CHOSEN
Employment is voluntary. Workers are free to terminate their employment at any time. The retention of identity documents and the payment of hiring fees are not permitted.
2. FREEDOM OF ASSOCIATION AND COLLECTIVE BARGAINING
Respect for the right to form or join trade unions and to participate in collective bargaining without fear of retaliation or intimidation.
3. SAFE AND HYGIENIC WORKING CONDITIONS
Hazard-free work environment, documented periodic training, and access to sanitation and drinking water. Safety Manager: Michela Gori.
4. NO CHILD LABOR WILL BE USED
Prevention of child exploitation. Prohibition of dangerous or nighttime work for minors under 18. Guarantee of compulsory school or vocational training.
5. WAGES ARE PAID ENOUGH TO LIVE
Wages comply with current regulations. Overtime is paid with a minimum 125% raise. Disciplinary wage reductions are prohibited.
6. WORKING HOURS ARE NOT EXCESSIVE
Normal hours of 40 hours per week. Maximum weekly hours of 48 hours, including overtime. Right to two days of rest (Saturday and Sunday). Overtime limit: 250 hours per year.
7. NO DISCRIMINATION IS PRACTICED
No discrimination in hiring or career development based on ethnicity, religion, age, gender, sexual orientation, political affiliation, or marital status.
8. REGULAR WORK IS PROVIDED
Employment relationships are established according to national laws. Avoidance of social obligations through improper employment-only contracts or bogus apprenticeships is prohibited.
9. CRUEL OR INHUMAN PRACTICES ARE NOT PERMITTED
Harassment, sexual abuse, corporal punishment, physical or psychological coercion, and verbal aggression are absolutely prohibited.
